The Category Filter feature of Google Adsense is not that much new. It has been around for almost a year, but many of us are not aware of it or do not know how to use it for better Adsense revenue. The category filter feature by Adsense helps the publishers to block ads that falls into particular categories that the publisher doesn’t want to publish.
To avail this facility log on to your Adsense account and click on the AdSense Setup tab on the top. Here you can see the Ad Review Centre link on the top right side. Click on the link and you can see the Category Filters listed. Select the categories that you don’t wish to publish and click submit.
For example if a publisher does not want to show ads related to Dating, he can select that category and click the submit button. Next time Ads related to Dating would not be displayed on his web page even if his page is related to dating.
This feature helps you to find out the % of Recent Earnings and % of Recent Ad Impressions for respective categories. These stats helps you to find out which ad categories are performing best and which are performing poorly. As a result you have the added advantage of blocking Ad categories that are performing poorly and thereby increasing your Adsense revenue.
If you haven’t explored this tool yet, log on to your Google Adsense account and remove categories that are not bringing any revenues to you and thereby enhance your Adsense earning potential.
