How to Create SEO Friendly Title For BlogSpot / Blogger

Blogger / Blogspot is one of the most popular and free blogging platform which is used by a large number of people. It is owned by Google and is one of the best free blogging platform available. Since it is owned by Google it is easily indexed by Google and most of its features are SEO friendly. You can also select from a list of free templates for your blog which is provided by Blogger itself.

One of the drawback with the default free templates are that the Titles are not fully SEO friendly. When you go to an blog page in your blog, usually the Heading of your blog should appear in your Title tag to make it more SEO friendly. But by default the main blog Title comes first, followed by the blog page heading as the title. It would be much better if the blog page heading comes first in the Title.

For this you just need to make a small change in the layout code and it is pretty simple. First go to your Blogspot dashboard and click the link named “Design” under your corresponding blog. After clicking on this link you would be redirected to your design page and here have to click on a link named “Edit HTML” at the top.

You can see the links to be clicked marked in red.

Now inside the Tag you can see a code <data:blog.pageTitle/> .

Just replace this code with

<data:blog.title/>

<data:blog.pageName/>

Now you are done with making your Blogger Title SEO friendly.

Tips for Blog Content Syndication

Content syndication is the process of publishing the content of your website on other websites( partially or fully). Content syndication can be automated syndication as well as manual. A best example for automated syndication is the syndication of content or snippets through RSS feeds or similar application. In manual syndication you place the content of your website / blog on other websites manually.

Here I would like to talk some thing about blog content syndication. Consider a case in which a vendor has a huge ecommerce site with a blog installed in it. The guy may be having some clients/partner, for whom the vendor provides websites or microsites which contains details regarding the products of the vendor. Consider that the vendor also needs to show the same blog post on each of its client’s / vendor’s websites. He uploads the content either manually or through some automated software. Here the main problem with these sites may suffer is the duplicate content issue.

Google may detect the content duplication and would not show the version that we have preferred in the search engine result pages. This is a nightmare for webmasters as their original blog postings do not show anywhere for the relevant search queries. So they have to find a solution for this.

The best way is to include a link back to the original blog source, so that it may help Google in identifying the original content and getting more authority to the main site. Another way to solve this issue is to prevent the search engines from crawling the duplicate content. This can be done by using a noindex meta tag to the pages which contains the blog syndication.

The above mentioned steps can solve the issues of blog content syndication to a greater extent.
