For the success of the website in the search engine listing, SEO is not everything. Because, only SEO alone can give your website a boost to get the top place in the search engine ranking. In this case, you have to update your website content on a regular basis. The reason is that Google only like to index the fresh content frequently. When you are updating your content with a new one so that it presumes you are using the new keyword. Therefore, when you are updating your website content, you should remember some criteria for the quality content.

Uniqueness
Always, remember that the content should be unique in terms of the quality. Only unique content will be quickly indexed on the search engine ranking. Therefore, you must remember that the content should not be a clone from other content. It must be original.

Freshness
The website content should be fresh and current. Therefore, only the current and updated content will attract the visitors on the website. It is better to create the content on the current trends. Therefore, it will be more acceptable to the search engine and the visitors as well. The search engine never likes to see a content, which was based on the yesterday trends. Sometime, if you keep your eyes open on the visitors’ behavior on your website, then you will feel that when the new content will require to upload on the website.

Length
The length of the content makes a big difference in the search engine ranking. The reason is that the search engine only accepts the content, which has a default 250 words parameter for indexing. Always try to stick at this point. Any excessive more than it will not be accepted. Moreover, the default 250 words parameter will smooth the process
for the ranking listing on the search engine. It is a rule that every 1 image per 300 words should be in the content.

Quality
The quality of the content is very much important for the search engine ranking. Moreover, the poor quality content will never work for your website. So, always try to write quality content so that the visitors can make repeated visits to your website. It is your responsibility to make your visitors up to date and well informed.

Density
Always, remember that do not stuff the keywords everywhere on the website. If you do so then, the search engine will not respond to your trying. So, keep the keyword stuffing under control and always try to use it in a wise manner.

Natural
The content of your website should be optimized well according to the search engine parameter. If the content is over optimized, then it will not work on the search engine ranking list. The over optimized content will never pay you anything rather it will degrade your reputation on the internet community. Nowadays, Google follows the
principles of Content first, keyword second. Therefore, you should always try to keep your content standard high.

Therefore, the SEO is not everything for a website rather the content is an important component of the search engine listing.

Optimizing your websites for popular search engines is one of the best ways to get traffic and increase your sales. But search engine optimization is considered to be a broad topic to study, discuss and analyze. You could require a couple of months or even a year’s time to digest every bit of the information you read about SEO and then decide
upon the techniques and strategies to be used for your website. Once you start using these techniques, some may work and others won’t.

This is simply because the search engine keeps on updating and changing the algorithm and its formula. Hence, it will be a kind of guessing game for you who keep on thinking which technique to use or avoid. To avoid such things people often outsource this work to SEO experts. However, there are several pros and cons of hiring an SEO expert
which you need to weigh before outsourcing this work. The below are some quick pros and cons to hiring an SEO expert.

The pros

SEO experts are efficient
As said earlier SEO is a vast topic to discuss and analyze, hence chalking out different strategies can be time consuming and labor intensive. For instance, it can take couple of weeks or months to track and develop sufficient amount of data to fully understand the online behavior of your target market. Any professional SEO expert can help
you to carry out this work in an efficient manner and thus allow you to give enough time to focus on running your business venture.

SEO expert has better insight
Any professional SEO consultant has a good insight about the subject. He can render you a better interpretation data. Any internet marketing consultant is well versed with the tendencies, pattern and relationship seen between the online users and search engines. A specific type of art and science understanding to identify which keywords will
prove more effective than others while trying to reach some specific kind of consumers.

SEO experts shapes your website design
The search engine optimization is more than pulling traffic towards your website. An SEO expert can also prove a good help for you to improve your website design and layout in a more conducive manner for conversions and thus put your website content in proper places where search engines can easily find it. For instance, an effective SEO
practice on a blog is to avoid listing the entire blog posts over a single page, rather it should only list the blog titles along with a short summary in every post. By clicking on any post it should open the blog post in a new web page. Therefore, you will find the SEO experts giving several ideas including the discussed example to improve your website design and layout in perspective of search engine optimization.

SEO experts assures good results
Hiring any SEO expert can certainly guarantee good results which you may not be able to carry out unless you belong to this industry. Hiring any SEO expert gives you a higher possibility to reap good results in the coming next months. Hence if you are worried about your desirable results, outsourcing your SEO work to any competent company can be a good deal.

The cons

Cost you money
This is regarded as one of the major drawbacks of hiring any SEO expert. Some SEO experts can really proveout to be very expensive. SEO services can differ widely in terms of cost which will depend upon your industry, competitions, your requirements and goals. The other factors can also hamper the cost in case if you see the SEO
Company as very small, too large or among the novices. In any of the case, it is imperative to understand a fact that SEO is an investment and is no more an option in today’s technological age. It is vital.

No complete guarantee
SEO doesn’t come with any kind of guarantee. A majority of SEO professionals are generally experts in their domain and keep abreast with the modern trends and strategies seen in the industry. However, the website rankings are only decided by the popular search engines including Google. Hence no one on earth has the influence or power to supersede Google or any other search engines. Having said that, it is imperative to be conscious while dealing with SEO expert or company which can make tall claims or gives guarantees about your rankings.

If you can afford to invest time and efforts to become SEO experts, it is better to tread this path. However, if this is not possible, the other best option is to hire an SEO expert. With the above discussed pros and cons, you now have the ideas of hiring a competent SEO expert.

Pay per Performance or Performance based SEO is fastly becoming a popular phrase in the search engine optimization industry and this is considered to be one of the best way to get your SEO done by an agency or a consultant. Both the parties benefits from performance based SEO and this is really a safe way to manage your SEO projects. Pay for performance is entirely different from the traditional SEO campaigns and here you need to pay only for the results. If you do not get the desired results from your SEO activities, you are not supposed to pay anything towards your agency.

In the tradition SEO methods, a client has to purchase an SEO package for a particular time period and he has to pay the SEO agency even if he do not get the desired results from the SEO campaign. There is no guarantee that the amount invested for SEO activities would bring rich dividends to him. So here a client would be gambling his money invested in SEO, as his bucks spend may or may not go in vain.

This is where the pay per performance SEO model comes into play and here the clients have minimum risk of wasting their money on SEO. In pay per performance SEO, a client reaches an agreement with the SEO agency on a particular set of keywords and would only pay the agency for the keywords that reach the top positions in search engines. He would not have to pay for the other non performing keywords, when compared with the traditional SEO models. This would be a great time saving strategy and this would also encourage the SEO agency to work more effectively on those keywords to bring in better rankings.

In the last 3-4 years a lot of companies and agencies have changed their strategies and have shifted from the traditional SEO plans to the performance based SEO model. This is beneficial for both the agency and the client the agency also gets relieved from the high work pressure that is present in the traditional SEO strategies. Initially it was little difficult to educate the clients about the pay per performance SEO model, but later when they realized the benefits of this SEO model they started embracing it.

Here are some of the major benefits of Pay Per Performance SEO Model.

1) Better ROI
When you purchase a traditional SEO package, you have to pay the full amount irrespective of the results, where as in pay for performance SEO model, you just need to pay for the keywords that are performing. This would result in less investment and better results as you don’t need to pay for non performing keywords. The end result would be a better return over investment (ROI) when compared with the traditional SEO models.

2) Comfortable Payment Option
In the traditional SEO campaigns, you need to pay huge amount for a package and this would be a huge investment for you. In the pay for performance model, you don’t have to spend huge money as you only need to pay for the keywords that are ranking high in the search engines. This would make your payment more comfortable and flexible as you would have a better idea of how much to pay by looking at the keyword ranking reports.

3) Less Tension for SEO agencies
The pay for performance SEO model is really a blessing for SEO agencies and companies as they would not feel the over burden of getting rankings for all the keywords. Here they can flexibly target the major keywords to rank them higher and get paid for those performing keywords only. In the traditional model, the agencies are always under pressure as the clients have huge expectation as they have paid a big amount for the SEO package. But in the pay for performance model, this issues is reduced to a great extend.

4) More productivity
Since the agency gets paid for the performing keywords, they could easily pick up the best potential keywords and work on them freely for better results and getting paid. This would really increase the productivity as the agency do not have the additional pressure and can thing freely of varied SEO techniques to bring keywords to the top on the search engines.

5) Better Rankings for Targeted Keywords
In pay for performance models, the agencies usually pick up the most important and potential keywords that can be ranked higher and this would result in the target keywords getting better search engine placements. We have seen that in most of the traditional SEO packages, a lot of unwanted keywords ranks higher for a particular keywords, as the agencies does SEO for a huge set of keywords to keep up the expectation of the clients. But in the PPF model SEO, the agency and the clients have already reached an agreement regarding the payment and this results in the agencies bringing better rankings for the most targeted keywords.

Doing SEO for a website is something that needs to be done with high care and attention. Doing SEO for a website is not a comfortable jobs, as there would always be unexpected challenges and issues which an SEO professional needs to sort it out of his own. Doing SEO for a website is not anything magic, and SEO process includes many sensitive steps and stages which need to carried out in the best way for better results.

Different websites need to be optimized in different methods depending upon the nature of the industry and competition faced by that website.

This is for all those who are new into SEO and would like to state things in a simple way. For all those who are new to SEO, the major question that arises would be why we need to do SEO for a website. The question is so simple but this simple question has a lot of right answers depending upon the situation. The main thing that you need to know is about the real meaning of SEO. SEO or search engine optimization stands for all the activities that is done on a website so that it’s overall ranking in the major search engine increases along with an increased level of traffic to the website. SEO activities also takes care in making the visitors stick on the website for a longer time by improving the overall user friendliness of the website.
Why You Need SEO for a Website?
Before answering the question, let us think about some common factors. Most of the companies have website on which their services and products are listed for the users to review or purchase. So if a company has created a website and listed its products and services, would it be able to sell or promotes its products and services? The answer to this question do not come in the single words such as “Yes” or “No”. The answer to this question is that “it is difficult” to promote or sell products and services by simply listing them on a website.

So if you want to promote the content on the website and sell the products and services of that product, then you should come up with a well-planned SEO campaign. Once you do SEO for a website, the content of the website starts appearing in the major search engines when someone searches with keywords that are related to the content on your website. Once your website and its inner pages starts showing for user queries in the major search engines, the chances of people clicking on the results pointing to your website would increase. As a result more and more user traffic would be coming to your website through the search engines, which would in turn increase the chances of selling your products or services to them.

If your site is displaying higher in the search engines, the chances of getting visitors to your website would be higher. So a lot of things are done in order to get your site displayed higher on the search engines and all these efforts are collectively known as search engine optimization or SEO. If you do not do SEO for your website, it would not mean that you will not get any traffic from search engines. If your industry is less competitive, then you would naturally get search engine traffic without doing much SEO. But if your industry is competitive, then your site would not easily display higher on the search engines. So in the latter case the need for SEO is higher and in the former case if we do SEO (even if it is less competitive) we will be getting a much more results in terms of traffic.

The above cases are sufficient enough to provide an answer on why we need to do SEO for a website. SEO is necessary for improved search engine rankings for your website’s major keywords and would help your website reach the right visitors or customers through various search engines. SEO is one of the best way to market your website online and if done in the proper way, SEO can yield you huge income through your website with little investment. On the other hand, if SEO is not done in the legitimate way, then your website may get penalized by the search engines and you would never get targeted traffic on your website from the search engines.

Adwords is one of the best online advertising platform which is offered by the search engine giant Google. Adwords is being used by majority of the businesses and companies that are trying to market their products and services online. Adwords is easy to manage and the major advantage of this online advertising platform is that you just need to pay for the clicks on your ads, rather than paying for all the impressions. This makes Adwords a more reliable and affordable online advertising platform.

For those who use Adwords for their online businesses must be aware about the keywords and the types of keywords that are entered into the Adwords platform for advertising purposes. There are mainly 4 keyword match types in Adwords such as Broad Match, Phrase Match, Exact Match and Negative keyword type and all these are used for different purposes.

Of the 4 keyword match types in adwords most of the advertisers who are just into the trade, uses the broad match type on most occasions. The Broad Match type is provided as the first option while they enter the keywords and rarely do they try to change it into any of the other keyword match types. While using the broad match types, they do get clicks and conversion which they can see from the Adwords report. They do not find any issues or problems with using broad keyword as they are seeing clicks and conversions in their report.

But the real fact is that using the broad match type is really a serious issue which can waste the time and money that you spend on your Adwords campaign. Most of us may not be aware how the broad match keyword types are costing us our money and time and this is a major thing that needs to be looked into. There are two main issues that arises from using broad keyword match type in Adwords and you should avoid it to getter better ROI from your Adwords campaigns. Here are the two main issues of using broad match type keywords.

1) Irrelevant Ad Triggers and Low Quality Score
If your broad keyword match type in your Adwords campaign, your ads might be triggered for a lot of irrelevant search queries. This might lead into unwanted ad impression without any clicks on your advertisements. If you are short of clicks on your Ads, then your Click Through Rate (CTR) would eventually go down and the average CTR for that particular group will also go down. In Adwords if you have got a low CTR, your Ads will end up with having a poor Quality Score. If you have a poor Quality Score for your keywords, you will have to bid higher to prevent Adwords from disabling that keyword. This means that if you have a bad Quality Score, you will end up spending more on your keywords than in the usual case. You will have to pay more for the same ad position than someone having a good Quality score for the same keyword.

2) Irrelevant Clicks and No Conversion
The second case is that even if your Ads are being triggered for irrelevant search queries, at times some of your ads might get clicked. The real problem is that these clicks have come from irrelevant search queries and the visitor would never be getting any relevant information from the landing page and he eventually exits the page without being converted. This is a serious issue as you are spending money for clicks that do not have the potentiality for being converted into sales. If your keyword list is long, the chances of triggering irrelevant ads and getting irrelevant clicks would increase resulting in a utter waste of your advertising money.

These two cases are very much important as far as ROI is considered and you should always bend to other keyword match types rather than blindly going with the broad match type. Once you change your broad match type keywords, you can see a substantial improvement in your Adwords campaign with better Ad quality score, improved CTR and conversion rate.

Bounce rate is something serious that most of the webmasters are concerned about while viewing their web analytics stats. A high bounce rate in the web analytics report for a website means that the visitors are not at all interested in the website content and immediately leave the page soon after entering the website. This may happen due to various factors and if your website’s bounce rate is high, then you need to take it seriously and identify the areas where you can work on so as to improve the bounce rate. The bounce rate clearly speaks about the quality of your website and websites having high bounce rate are considered to be of low quality.

There are various reasons for the high bounce rate your website is experiencing and most of them are common issues. Some small adjustments can easily boost up your bounce rate and most of us fail to identify what these small adjustments really are. Here are some of the most importance and common reasons that is considered to be playing an important role in the high bounce rate of websites. Hope that it would be of useful to you.

1) Unwanted Pop Ups
Many of us come up with promotional pop up on our web pages hoping to capture leads easily through various email marketing and newsletter registration forms. But this practice is really irritating for those coming on your website and most of the visitors tend to leave the webpage, once they see these annoying pop up ads.

2) Irrelevant Search Engine Ranking
There are various landing pages that appear on search results for irrelevant keywords and this may happen due to the discrepancies in the optimization of those pages. Seeing an irrelevant landing page for user search queries, surely results in the user leaving the page without moving further.

3) Irrelevant Audience
If you are targeting your website or webpage on an irrelevant audience, your website would not be getting any decent page visits as most of the visitors would leave without visiting any other pages other than the landing pages. This mainly happens in social media marketing where your website and it pages are promoted among irrelevant audience.

4) A Badly Designed Landing Page
A landing page is one of the most important thing that a user gets after searching for something on the search engines and if the design of the landing page is not good enough to hold the visitors, then the visitors would surely exit the page very fast.

5) Non Focused Marketing Campaigns
Either it be paid search marketing campaigns or social media campaigns, the campaigns should be focused in a better way as to get more conversion. Failing to do this, result in the visitors showing no interest in a particular landing page and leaving the page soon.

6) Higher Page Load Time
The major search engines especially Google has especially specified before how importance it gives to a website’s load time while determining its search engine rankings. Similar is the case of load time when it comes with a user point of view and the website which takes too much time to load would not be able to hold its visitors back and visitors naturally exits from such web pages.

7) Links to External Websites Opening in the Same Window
Most of the websites might have links which are pointing to some other external websites and this is not at all a bad practice. But most of us do the serious error of opening the external links in the same window, rather than opening it in an external window. By not allowing the links to open in an external window, we are prompting the visitors to leave our webpage without returning back.

8) Music on the website
There are many website which provides music upon the loading of a webpage and many of us do it to impress the audience. But the fact is that websites having music on its page naturally have a higher bounce rate as most of the users might not be comfortable with the music and leave the page as soon as they hear the music.

9) Streaming Videos on the Website
Streaming videos on the website might sound a good idea, but in the normal case the videos take its own time to load and the most of the visitors would not be interested in the same, resulting in an early exit from the page.

10) Non Engaging Landing Page
The well engaging landing page can always work wonders and it also helps to keep the visitors back on the web pages. If the landing page is not at all engaging and attractive then you would not be able to make the visitors stay on the page and they would soon leave the page once they find the web page less engaging.

We all might be using any of the web analytics tool for tracking the traffic coming to our website and there are many web analytics software such as Google Analytics, StatCounter, Omniture, KissMetrics etc which helps you to traffic the number of visit coming to your website. Some of these are paid while others are free and the paid tools generally offers some advanced feature which the free versions does not provide. But these tools offer general basic reports which are essential to track the traffic in normal cases.

While analyzing our analytics reports we might have come across three types of traffic sources such as the traffic from search engines, traffic from referring sites and direct traffic. The traffic from search engines denotes the amount of visits that the website gets from various search engines and these are mainly organic traffic. The traffic from referring sites are traffic which comes from links to your website placed on other website.

The third one, direct traffic is generally assumed to be the traffic generated as a result of typing your website or URL address directly into the address bar of any browser. It may also be the traffic that has come as a result of clicking any bookmarks. This is the general and most basic concept about the direct traffic results that shows in the Google Analytics report.

I recently checked one of my website’s traffic stats and came to notice that 30 percentage of its traffic are coming from direct traffic. The site was not that much popular enough for the people to type the URL directly into the browser and I confirmed that the direct traffic came from different location and onto different pages on the website. There were little traffic which came from my own IP, but the remaining direct traffic really made me curious.

Direct traffic and its Confusing Element
It was then when I really got confused about the direct traffic element in web analytics. I really tried all the ways to figure out the how this direct traffic came consistently into my site. After seeking help from my friends and referring some resources on the web, I finally managed to get answers to my queries. But as per my observation this was assumed to be correct upto 75 percent only, and still it was enough to clear my doubts about the direct traffic.

The Major Reasons for Direct Traffic
I used to run small email marketing campaigns which was sent through different mediums. I also send out frequent newsletter without tagging the landing pages in the links provided in the content of the newsletter. I had also uploaded a lot of PDF and Word docs on various online platforms which had link to my websites. Another thing that I used to do was to submit links in various social media sites through various social media tools such as TweetDeck, HotSuite etc. I used to get the number of clicks through URL shortners but it was never seen in my analytics report in the referral sites section.

The Real Fact of Direct Traffic
The fact is that all the traffic that came from sources that are difficult to be identified by the analytics tool appeared to be under the direct traffic section. In short all the traffic from email marketing, newsletters, social media tools, pdf and word files all came under the direct traffic section. Since I was getting traffic regularly from these sources, I got a steady number of traffic in the direct traffic section and that too from different geographical location and into different landing pages. I realized that the traffic under direct traffic section are worth counting and understood the importance of these numbers.

So next time if you see a good number of traffic under the direct traffic section, mind to have a look at them and confirm whether they are at least coming from different locations. And if they are also pointing into different landing page, then you can easily assume that the direct traffic are coming from other sources you have promoted your website and not from your own IP or through others who closely knows about your website.

SEO is constantly evolving and SEOs are really trying hard to maintain the rankings for their website in the major search engine. Every year there would be some key areas where the SEO professionals focus more in order to get better search engine results for their website. In the last one year there has been some major search engine updates and a lot have changed when it comes to ranking your website in the major search engines.

Here are some major important search engine ranking factors that we need to focus this year, so that we do not go down in the search results. These things are applicable for an existing website, a revamped website or a brand new website. Let us have a look at them.

Reliable Information
The quality of the information provided on the website will be a decisive factor that determines the search engine ranking of a website. If content provided on the website should be reliable and trustworthy, you would be getting more references from external sites which would boost your search engine rankings.

Website Authority
Website having enough authority in search engines stands ahead of its competitors and creating authority for your website is a long term job and cannot be achieved overnight. This can be achieved by getting references from relevant external sites, strong social media presence etc.

Branding
These days, websites which have a fair amount of branding and reputation easily gets on top of the search engine results. Branding is also something which is achieved through extensive offpage activities on a regular basis. The value you provide through the services mentioned on your website would also help in getting a decent branding.

Link Popularity
Link popularity is another major criteria which enhances the search engine rankings and it has been holding its importance since a long time. Try building genuine and relevant backlinks from websites which are of high quality and make sure that your link building activities does not look aggressive or spammy.

Anchor Text
The anchor text that you provide on your site or on any external site would also deeply influence your search engine ranking. So while linking your website, make sure that you have provided the best and relevant keyword as the anchor text.

Domain Age
The domain age again plays an important role and it is always easy to optimize and promote domains that are aged, when compared with the new domains. If you have an aged domain, then implementing the basis SEO techniques would help you getting improved search engine rankings.

Site Speed
The site speed also influences your search engine ranking and Google has specifically mentioned about the relation between site speed and search engine ranking in its official blog few months before. You can also see the site speed with Google webmaster tools and do the necessary steps to lower your site speed in order to get better search engine ranking.

Social Media Ratings
A lot of social media sites are there and the presence and ratings of your sites in these social media channels can really help in improving your keyword rankings in the major search engines. So submitting your website content in social media sites and promoting them would result in better search engine ranking for your website.

Autotagging is one of the best way to analyse your Adwords keywords and costs with the help of Google Analytics. Once you have linked your Google Analytics with your Adwords account, you can analyse your keyword performance in a much better way with Adwords Autotagging. When compared with manual tagging, Adwords Autotagging helps you in saving a lot of time as it automatically tags all the URLs in different campaigns and AdGroups.

More over Autotagging is much more accurate and error free when compared with manual URL tagging and offers much more detailed information when compared with manual tagging of the URLs. So most of the online marketing consultants and professionals prefer auto tagging over manual tagging. The information that we get as a result of enabling auto tagging would help us to efficiently manage our Adwords account.

Enabling or disabling autotagging is really easy and you do not have to go through complicated steps or process in order to enable auto tagging in Adwords. Usually auto tagging is enabled by default while creating an account in Adwords. Once the autotagging is enabled, the system automatically adds a unique id to your landing page URLs whenever someone clicks on the Ads that directs to your website.

Below are the steps that helps you to disable or enable autotagging in Adwords.

1) Log in to your Adwords account.
2) On the dashboard, go to “Preferences” section under the “My Account” tab.
3) Under the “Preferences” section, there is an area named “Tracking” under where you can see the option to edit auto-tagging.
4) Click the “Edit” link provided there and you can see a check box which helps you to disable or enable auto tagging.
5) Checking this box enables automated tagging, whereas unchecking it disables auto tagging for your destination URLs.
